Man! any chance you might be willing to let me do a full scan of that brochure to create a PDF for the site? I would be willing to cover postage both ways and do the scanning!

Let me know.

I'm bumping this thread as it is the place that inspired me to keep an eye out for my next project (yes my CT1-C Mutt build is finally making some progress, I hope to be done for 2nd quarter 2017). I've been figuring a 2 stroke twin Yamaha, like old tanks & drum brakes... 350cc preferred. I really like the look / lines of the 1967 YR1, but being born in 1968... that year would mean more. The problem there is the pointy tank lines in 68 don't do it for me.

I just found and will go see this weekend, an early 68 titled, pre YR2, YR1 (seems the YR2 wasn't released until March 1968). The 90 year old original owner still has the title, his son is helping him sell off a few old bikes and cars. This is a complete bike but a basket case, engine pulled for rebuild well over a decade ago, rolling frame was involved in some flooding with Super Storm Sandy... but this the the state I was hunting for.

Still thinking it over... he is down to $200 from $600, I'm thinking I will show up over the weekend and offer $150 cash in hand. It is mostly complete, but a whole lot of junk too... I'm so torn :Ugh

Here's my take on the project FWIW.....

All the chrome is shot.....including the wheels and pipes . Those motors are difficult to split and put together properly. You can easily bend a rod putting the cases back together The crank is expensive to rebuild.

The plus.... parts are plentiful and relatively cheap.
Its gonna be a labor intensive project to rebuild the motor and get the electrical working....

$150 - $200 is about right......but you need to have the will and dedication to see a project like this thru.
it probably wont be easy because of the motor and electrical

Well, I missed out... but didn't

The seller never removed his craigslist ad, I had decided to contact him Friday and drive over with $150 cash. He sold it to a "I buy bikes" guy in the area who usually powerwashes and then flips for more money... or dismantles and makes a fortune of overpriced bits and pieces :S

Fortunately his first 2 listings on eBay went nowhere so he relisted it for $99 and no reserve! I was high bidder for 5 days at $102.50, it went to $255 with 15 minutes left. I decided it was worth $317 (I was born on St Paddy's Day)... so with 20 seconds to go I bid that.... BAM! I won it for exactly $317!!! :Throttle
