Clegg,
Here you go.... I put these in my YDS3's, same part # as your YDS2. You get 5 friction plates for $68.16.
Good luck,
swm

Hello,
I'm new to this site.
I just received the clutch kit from Barnett and it comes with 5 friction discs and my original YDS3 has 4.
Can anyone assist on how they made this work. The original friction disc are measuring just under 4mm.
The new friction discs are 3.54mm. If I add a steel the clutch pack would be over 2mm thicker than the original.
I think that is to much to remove from the plate
Also I have a YDS3 vin# Y23-23257. can anyone help me identify the actual year? I was told its a 1966
Thanks!

avc2020,
YDS3 only takes 4 frictions, I had two YDS3 engines rebuilt so only 4 friction plates were installed (if I understood question correctly). Engines were built by my local shop so I can't comment "how to", but they didn't mention any challenges installing the new Barnett discs. There are some twin cylinder experts here but you should also join this group (see link) which focuses solely on early Yamaha twins.

YDS3's are great bikes.
Good luck!!

Hello everyone,
I ended up buying another steel and using 4 of the Barnett frictions and the clutch is working great. If anyone has any other questions let me know I will try and help.
Thanks again for all the support!!

That looks like a YDS3 250 , probably about 64 vintage . The early ones had the round badge on the fuel tank .
