You must be referring to this video of John Stein's YDS2 Catalina racer...
John sure passed a lot of guys during that first lap of the 2010 Catalina Grand Prix
It's sure fun to watch !

That is the one ! There is something about the sound a two stroke twin makes that is music to the ears, that you can hear it in the video you posted above.
Can't wait to hear yours !

My tires arrived for my Ascot project this week......so I started on getting them mounted.
I mounted up the front first....
This image is hidden for guests.
The Ascot uses the same 4:00 X18 trials block tire front and rear.

I have been researching various 4:00 X 18 trials tires for several months....from Michelins, to Cheng Shin and
Pirellis and others..
I finally decided on the IRC because of their slightly lower profile than some of the other brands I was considering.
Visually these tires are the closest to the original (unobtainable) Yokohama's it came from Japan with..
I really dig the "old school" look of the lettering and the size looks right too!

So far so good

Here's the rear before mounting.....
This image is hidden for guests.
The rear needed some final truing and a new rim strip installed....

Tomorrow I hope to get the rear mounted up ....

I know this Ascot is the most rare and valuable Yamaha I will ever restore.....so I am trying to the bike justice.
I am definitely not as skilled and talented as other are here..... trying to make up for that by making the bike as correct
as I reasonably can ?
Thanks for the kind words guys !
