Found a quick way to do this..... A lot of time can be spent taping things off so I tried one of those Enamel Paint Pens a few years back and wow- make easy work of it and no taping required and has held up great!

The tip on these pens are a plunger type so you can just lower the tip into the cavities and push down to let the paint sort of pool and then take a small artist paint brush and just push the paint for a nice coat.

Then you just wipe around the edges if you need to.

While this isnt a DIY spray gun or rattle can, I still would like to document it. The more information we have the better.

This paint job was done on Vance's1974 Yamaha DT 360 :OnFire .

These work GREAT for touching-up the black background on badges too.

Yes, you can maintain the stock paint job with this. If you want to be extra safe, while riding at night, here you go. :OnFire
I might have to try this in a few years..

/\/\/\/\/\/\ Love that '71 R5B, what rear sets are those? I'm partial to that orange & white.

I manufactured the rear-sets myself to use the stock pegs, and they still fold-up. I made these with bronze bushings, but I am not satisfied with the "feel", so I have a set of skateboard bearings to replace them but I need to get some lathe work done.
It is a '72, the build thread is at: DTT

I will be doing alot of testing this coming year. I think I just found a dead ringer for the 1974 DT 125. I do not wish to post the info until I have actually had it applied to the metal parts. The reason why: it may not come out the same as the sample.

1978 Yamaha DT 175 Balboa Blue. painted by Patrick Hess. This may work on other models, its hard to tell with the lighting. Also with white or black base coats it could effect the look.

Paint used. duplicolor engine enamel with ceramic old ford blue. DE1621.
