Welcome to the site, I am a socal resident as well. Thats awesome that you have that many bikes! Pics can go in any thread as long as the thread itself is relevant to them. or they can go in the gallery (multi-media). If posting in the thread under the post box there is a button to "add file" and once the file is added you can hit the "insert" button to post the photos into the post box.

Hello, My name is Kevin and I have loved these old Yamaha Enduros since I first saw an older guy in our neighborhood out in the woods climbing down into the creek and back up the other side on a early 250 enduro . My Jr. high buddy had a new JT1 mini enduro when they hit our local Yamaha dealership in Irving, Texas. The day I walked into my local dealership at 12 years old in 1970 and saw the new 360's with the black gas tank and yellow pinstripe I knew someday I would own one. My first Yamaha Enduro was a used 72 -100 and later I got a nice used 72 - 250 Enduro. I rode it i until my old high school buddy had a 1970 Trans Am for sale in the late eighties and I sold the bike to help pay for the Trans Am. I look forward to advice and picking your brains on restoration tips on these old bikes. I don't mind doing my own work on theses bikes as long as I can ask someone who has done it before for tips on doing it the easy way. I look forward to keeping these old bikes on the road and on the trail. I own a 70,71,72,and 73 360 enduro and a 125 MX. Thanks for all the information and time you guys have spent on this website!

Looking forward to some pics of your project. There is a lot of knowledge on the board, and a great willingness to share. Check out our Tech Library for manuals and articles and don't be afraid to ask questions. There is also a pretty robust Search feature on the site and we have a lot more info and features on the way.
Just added a general help page for the forum as it is a bit different than some of the others out there. Fairly easy to learn, but we like to make it easy.
Again, welcome!

I've had 2 cherry Yamaha enduros sitting in my hangar for 15 years. A 1974 175 and a 1974 360. Spent the last few days getting the rust out of the tanks and cleaning out the carbs. The 175 is purring and running very smooth......It fired right up with a little 100LL avgas. Should have the 360 going in the next couple of days.

Well, after a long delay, here I is. Mothersbaugh is who I will be here, jim663 is who I is over on the other site. Got started in 2010 when the Enduro I wanted in high school/college appeared in the local classifieds: 1972 CT-2; make offer. And for $150, I was in. Up to my eyeballs. Have since acquired a pair of 1971 AT-1's, one of which is a 175 with a 74 jug, head and carb, a 1971 CT-1 (one of the few Enduros with the factory close ratio transmission, a 1997 XT-350, a 1973 Honda CL-175, and a 1986 Harley Davidson FXRS.
I have attended two Endurofest rides, famous in the Moab ride for breaking down in the rain right in front of a winery and waiting it out there while the posse rode back and got my car/trailer for me, and famous in the Ourey ride for falling over on my right side on the XT-350 while at a dead standstill on some rocks, thus bunging up my knee.
I also restore and ride vintage bicycles, putting in 800-900 miles every summer on those. By trade I am a classical musician (violinist) and a public school music teacher, and I buy and sell, as well as work on, violins and bows, too. Summers, too, I'm the man in the blue shirt and short-billed cap that you love to holler at when attending your kids' and grandkids' baseball games.
Probably won't be posting much here at first; looks like there is a lot to digest before I get comfortable, even though I have met many of you. Thanks for having me.

Jim - welcome home! I recall that fateful trip to the winery to pick you up with DEET. Good times.
How is the bike running? We need some photos when you get a minute?
Again, welcome to the site!

Roger bought a summer place up in the far north panhandle of Idaho, Randy Weaver territory, I suggested to him. He's been up there working hard to get it just the way he wants it. Not much other word from him.
No problem on the ride. The pavement run was the easy part!
And to Makotosun, The bikes are good, but I'm the one running mostly, not the bikes. I have a run planned tomorrow, I think, to harvest another. Stand by. Remember that this all was a plan for retirement, and I'm not quite there, yet.

Just entered this forum from Oslo. I have 3 classic Yamaha`s RD350 -73(Stan Stevens tuned), RZ350F2-86(Working on T-Rev bigbore version) and a DT250 D fitted with a IT400 motor, the Enduro has been restored and modified with a IT engine and front fork over the last year . Hope to do some enduro`s for classics the coming years. Just did winter rally on very slippery snow, very tricky without steel spikes. photos with lots of classic enduro`s on winter snow: www.livredd.info/index.php?/category/147
