I came across this forum as I was searching for info on the project I picked up last summer. I bought a 73 LT2 for $100 at a yard sale. It is rough around the edges, but had decent compression and I felt I could nurse it back to life. It currently has 1004 miles on it, about 10 of which I've put on it since I've got it running. This is my first project bike. It will be slow going as I don't have a ton of funds to put in it. First things I need are a new seat and tires, and from what I could find on here, DEET's help in looking at the auto lube. It was hemorrhaging oil when I first got the bike. I've since taken it off and put on a block off plate, running premixed right now. [/URL]

My name is Frank Crawford. I apologize for not posting an introduction sooner. I have owned one bike in my life, a 78 DT400. Not running right now, collecting dust after restore 7 years ago . Top end is being worked on. I am in the process of porting it, then will send off to Enduronut for bore. I am greatful that I was accepted to this forum, so that we can keep our passion about these bikes alive.

I've lived in SoCal all my life and started with an 69' AT1 125 as my first mode of transpo back in 76'
That bike took me everywhere! I eventually sold it but shortly after bought a new XL600R. Sold the XL after about 7 years( one of the many moves I regret to this day) Not till 2008 did I regain the enduro bug. I bought and sold dt360's and a couple 250's. Settling with a 75'dt400 and my baby- a homemade 75'dt250 Bobber. Also a 82' xt550. I'
ve forced myself to stop buying these and concentrate on refurbishing the 400 and finishing the 250.
Long live the 2-stroke twin shock.

Dug - you will undoubtedly get som flack from the purists on the site, but pay no mind. All Enduro based projects are welcome.
