Hi my name is Guy, i am 49 years young and a self confessed enduroholic . I live in Sydney Australia and have had a passion for motorcycles particularly enduros since the age of 11. I have only had 6 bikes since then and 5 of the 6 have been of the enduro / trail type.
I love tinkering, modifying, repairing and semi restoring my motorcycles and currently own two at the moment. The first being a 1983 XT250K in which I acquired in 2001 and was virtually a motorised wreck when I got it. I have rebuilt the whole top end of the motor and added / replaced many other parts on the bike.
My latest acquisition is a 1977 DT250D in which I purchased in 2014 in a semi restored condition, however it still required many little bits and pieces and adjustments to make it right.
There are a couple non-stock modifications on both bikes and the 1st being the 12 volt electrics with leds globes ( except for the headlight) as the original 6 volt systems never really held up well. This gives me bright indicator and stop lights ( after experimenting with many types of different led globes ) and a battery which will always remains fully charged. The XT has a relay cutover switch, in that if selected, the headlight switches to full battery power automatically below 2500 rpm so the headlight is bright throughout
the whole rev range and not dim at idle. The XT also has and oil pressure switch with a buzzer and oil light as these bikes were known to have oil pressure problems. The DT has an upper and lower chain tensioner to Minimise chain whip as these bikes came out stock without a tensioner and chewed up chains and sprockets fairly quickly.
I have been very lucky to find many parts on the web to help me get these bikes to were they are and when I'm not riding them, I am looking at them with much admiration.
I'm glad I have stumbled across this site and look forward to sharing information and being a part of this community.
Thank you and kind regards
Guy

Hi All,
My name is Bruce. I have always enjoyed many forms of mini bikes but the JT1 has always been the pretty girl at the party for me. I had a honda Z50 as a child and the next bike after that was a JT1. Compared to the Z50 it felt as if I had strapped on a rocket! I never forgot that feeling and that is what started my love for these bikes. I found one that was fairly complete a couple of years ago and am just about to get started on it. I don't think for now that I want more than to get it mechanically sound. My young daughter often looks at it in the garage and asks when she can learn to ride it. I can only hope she will enjoy the thrills and feling of freedom as much as I did. These are the things I am driven by today. Please say hi and thak you all for allowing me to be part of this great forum.

My name is Kevin and I am 56 years old. An older guy in our neighborhood had a 70 DT1 250 and I walked into the local Yamaha shop in Irving Texas in 1970 at 12 years old and decided someday I would have a Yamaha 360 with a black tank and a yellow stripe. Had a very nice 72 -250 enduro with low mileage back in the eighties ,but my buddy had a 70 trans am he was selling so I converted the bike into pontiac money. My buddy in Jr. High had the JT1 mini enduro and I had a 72 Yamaha 100 in High School. I now have a 70,71,72, and 73- 360 and a 72-125MX. Looking forward to help and knowledge from you guys. I don't mind working on these bikes myself, but I always like helpful hints that make the job easier. Thanks!
