just signed up a few days ago. Just acquired a 1970 RT1 360. Don't know much about it. Been riding street bikes most of my life. (Currently BMW 12RT, and 1970 TR6R tiger) . Looking for a good service/parts manual on the 360. Can someone point me in the right direction? Don't know much about 2stroker motors, but I understand they are easer than 4 strokes.
Glad I found this site, hope everyone has a happy new year.

Open the workshop menu link up top and go to service manuals. Find your bike and download it!

We have a service manual located here: www.yamaha-enduros.com/index.php/service...cument.viewdoc&id=52
the 1971 RT1 360 was a piston port engine and should cover most if not everything for your 1970 RT1 360.
Yes they are much easier then 4 strokes. Lighter, faster, Less moving parts, cheaper, more power per CC. great sound and smell!

Hello Enduro fans and fanatics.
My name is Jeff and I've been riding some type of motorcycle since my late teens, I'm 60 years young now. In September of 2013 I acquired a fairly rough 1975 Kawasaki z1b. I wanted a winter project that involved grease and grime as I had been away from significant "wrenching" for quite a few years. I enrolled in a small engine/motorcycle repair class and was quickly hooked. The Z1b is now running after being completely stripped to the frame, rebuilt and re-bored, It still needs some tweeking, I'll complete it when the Midwest winter subsides. It is not a restoration project, that would have been way to costly.
What brings me to this forum is my purchase of a 1978 Yamaha dt125e. I bought the bike in July 2014 at the Mid-Ohio Speedway during the annual vintage days gathering (I was tired of walking). I had a blast riding it around the swap meet, in 3days I put on nearly 50 miles. Soon after, I figured it would be much more fun and safe if I had someone else to ride with. Last September I found a 1978 Yamaha dt400se in original condition, it ran pretty good so I snatched it up. Shortly after that a friend revealed he had a "rough" 1978 Yamaha dt175 in his shed, I snatched that up also. It doesn't run but it does have spark (bad piston and bore)!
My nephew and I are now rebuilding the 175 and 400 in my basement, we having some issues with the rear arm chain cases. Both had frozen mounting bolts and needed to be heated and beat loose. We are progressing and we are getting close to ordering parts.
I want to thank all of you in advance for the advise you may provide us. I will post photos when I figure out how to do it. Best regards, Jeff
p.s I'm not sure how to add a "boardcode", I'll work on that also.

Welcome Jeff! Mako has made things very easy. No code needed just upload file and click insert. The only time you would have to use a the posting code such as photobucket is if the file is to big (If its big it can also be sized down). Let me know if you need help with that.
What color did of 78 DT 125/175's did you get? They had 2 colors for each of these models. We have found good paint matches on all 4 models. The mono shocker bikes are fun to work on, they are very re-fined and ride well.

Hi guys!
I found this site from a link over on ADVrider. I have been lurking and am loving the content.
My first bike was a 75' DT250. That bike has been in the back of my mind for many years and finding this website has rekindled my desire to find and restore one. I enjoy reading everyones rebuild threads, it gets me motivated and I learn from you all, hope to be adding my own soon.
