Thanks! Here is a link to the blog: the520chaincafe.blogspot.com Here is a link to the photo set: www.flickr.com/photos/speedfourjoe/sets/72157630241210530/
I started with about the worst DT1 ever, which made the project a lot fun since it was just a blank canvas. The pipe is the one on the bike when I got it, cut up and reworked.

Hi this is William, I mostly work on my own bikes, currently restoring 2 1964 Honda 305 Superhawks with my dad! So I came across this site because a friend at work rescued a 1971 DT1 250 from the dump, I picked it up as a basket case and told him I would try to get it going! I decied I would try to put it all together and see what parts were missing, aside from some misc. nuts and bolts I only came up short the air box cover! I have been getting ready to try and start it before I take apart to give it a thorough cleaning for final assembly! And that is how I. Ended up here, I can not seem to figure out the spark, i can get power to the plug with a test light but can not get the plug to fire, I tried a new plug too! So just seeing if anyone has any old school info they are willing to share! This is my first post, I will have pictures next time for sure!
Thanks from William in Maine
