Yeah its a good find. Previous owner spent a lot on it to get it to its present state but couldnt keep it. She starts first kick usually, & runs & rides real nice. Everything works except for a lighting/brakelight short/glitch that will need to be sorted to keep it roadworthy.

Welcome! To the site, Adam! Good looking start you have there.

We have a factory service manual in the downloads, and there are several good Monoshock builds on the site for reference.

Lots of good folks and info here - just ask us! :Throttle

Welcome! I recognize the tank to be a 1976. The vin chart will tell you for sure. The vin chart is located under the tech library.
Several people here want to help. That being said make a thread with pictures and explain what is going on....Do you have spark, timing, fuel, compression, free flowing exhaust etc? These old bikes are very fun to work on, maintain, and ride.

Welcome! Sumit! I believe you may be our first member from ?Nepal!

I would agree with Devin based on appearances. Our VIN charts may not cover that as they are US focused. There is a model code listing which should be helpful in the download section.

The service manuals we have online should be fine for most mechanical stuff.

Based on the limited info you have posted so far, I would suspect a carb issue - possibly a good carb cleaning to start?

Hello there- My name is Kevin and I live in Sonoma, CA. Thats right- wino country, I mean wine (whine) country. I have been a motorcycle enthusiast my whole life. I do some restoration on cars as well but my real passion is for the two cycle bikes. I own a '69 DT1 two '70 DT1's, a '71 Rt1mx, and two '73 RT3's. I have many other motorcycles of varying size and description as well. I really got hooked on Yamaha Enduros as many have in high school. I had a '71 Dt1 that I pretty much slept next to. I went everywhere on it and couldn't wait to get out of classes to spend some time on the back wheel (which sometimes resulted in time on the pavement...). My interest was renewed around Christmas of '09. I saw an ad for a '70 DT1 in my town that was complete and running for $500.00. I got it and it basically sat in with my "projects" until late last year when I met a gentleman that sells new wiring harnesses on E-Bay. Little did I know but he turned out to be one of the nicest, most knowledgeable and patient individuals I have met in quite some time. His instruction and advice have been most appreciated. You all know him as one of your moderators and long standing experts and yes- He really does "save me dollars". Thanks Amigo. Hope to meet many of you in the forum and like a leech I will suck the info. out of the willing. Maybe some day I can help too.
