Hi everyone,
My name is Ryan, I'm a 41 year old Offshore Oil & Gas Production operator from South Louisiana working in the Gulf of Mexico. I'm a newb to the site but not to motorcycles. Right now the Yamaha projects I have consist of a 1983 DT80, a 1975 YZ80, a 1986 YF60 4 zinger (for my 4 year old), a 1978 DT400E (for daddy), and two 2009 YZ250f's ( for my older son). I have been into riding and repairing bikes from an early age and am glad I found this site. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

hello everyone ,my name is Joe I live in Michigan.i had an 1981 xs650 turned it into a café racer.I just picked up a barn find not sure what model or year. Does anyone know any thing about 9 digit vin numbers ? Its a twin cyl two stroke with oil injection either 180 or 200 cc 1965 - 69. any help would be great, even the local Yamaha dealer was no help.would like to know what Im dealing with before I start taking it apart

post the VIN or at least the first 5 digits or so and I'm sure someone can help.

The number on the frame is y26-16990 and the number on the engine is m1-16990. the bike has high pipes on it
