You have plates on those KDXs?
Nice video. There is a lot of riding in LPNF. Have you been around the entire upper mountain?
Last pic: Climbed up to Coyote Flat, 10,000 feet, above Bishop and Big Pine. Palisade Glacier in the background. We did a loop from Brent's Geology Summer Field Camp off 168 and White Mountain Road, Big Pine, Bishop, Coyote Flats, and back down to Big Pine.
I'm sure you'll recognize this place:

Unfortunately, both KDX's are not plated. They are used primarily for the desert out in Barstow, ( Slash X ), El Mirage, Camp rock, Johnson Valley and of course HV, during the winter months. For plated dirt rides, it's the DT175, DR650, and soon will be the DT400.
We will talk off line and perhaps you can tell me how you got your green machines plated.
The picture above looks like Silverado Canyon, was I close ?

Well I added a thread but will post an introduction here as well.
I'm living in Houston/Licking Missouri and my usual rider is a 2002 Honda VTX1800R. I've been riding it for a couple years now and love the big, loud, heavy cruiser.
I have had many bikes including a Kawasaki 80 dirt bike, a couple Honda 350's, Honda 360, Kawasaki 750, a 250 and a 400 scooter and now this one.
I learned to ride on the street aboard a 73 Yamaha 100 CT3 and loved it. I rode that bike exclusively for a couple years and put a lot of miles on it around town. Not so much on trails. I remember paying $300 for it back in 1978 or 79.
When I finally decided to buy my first car I couldn't come up with a down payment so thus had to sell the bike. I regretted it as soon as the guy handed me the money for it and have to this day. I think about the bike occasionally and just a few days ago on Craigslist found it's twin, right down to the purple color. So bought it and now have a winter project.
I've already gleaned a lot of information that will help with my project and will be asking more questions I'm sure.

I just joined this forum because I bought a 1971 JT1 today. The bike is running and in pretty good shape, except the kickstarter does not work. Here is a picture of the lil fella:

Looks like a good project. We have a factory service manual for that bike for download in the tech library, as well as a lot of specs on the bikes. If you have questions, contact member minienduroman who is our resident expert on the minis!

Hi to all from So.West Colorado.
Been a fan of these enduro's since I was a kid. I now own a 1974 DT 125a, 1976 DT 175a, and a 1974 DT 360a. The 125 has 900 original miles and runs great, The 175 has 3600 miles and runs perfect, the 360 is not currently running, but should be soon.

Hi,
I'm Randy from Kentucky. Hoping to do a restoration on my dad's '69 AT1. He bought the bike used around 71-72 to ride with me, I was 8 years old at the time. Initially we rode mostly on the neighbor's practice track as his son raced flat track. In 75 we moved to Kentucky and became off road riders on strip mine and logging roads. Dad continued to ride with me and my friends through our teen years until we got busy with college and jobs. Sadly he passed away while I was in college. Shooting, Riding and turning wrenches was what we spent time doing together.
Recently I got the bike back as it had been at my sister's house and a few other places. Long boring story. But I have it back now which is the important thing. However my nephews had taken some parts off to use on other bikes, it is mostly intact and they had the engine running briefly before they brought it to me.
I want to at least get the bike back into running condition and back together then I may focus on getting it original. When dad bought the bike the lights and speedo had already been removed and was in a box. Unfortunately I don't know where that box is. I may find it but most likely won't.
Anyway I am sure to have lots of questions and need help. Thanks!

I started the addiction with and AT1 back in the 70's. Got out of it and restarted with the same model in 2004.
Lots of help here, and manuals and stuff for download. Post up some pics of the bike when you get a chance!
