When the rear hub was apart, the grease zirk channel was routed to a bushing that had a shallow, yet wide groove machined into it… The swing arm has the same zirks on each side… somewhat important piece I think..

Well, a ride around the block and it is zippy-er! Nice… but I can really tell it’s running rich… blubbery… So I thought I’d drop the needle a notch… it’s already at the top! I’ll mess the the air mix and idle as the book sez to try… if that don’t at least get me headed in the right direction, I’ll have to take off the carb and see what the innards has for numbers…
I took the chain guard off a ‘74 250 hoping to put it on this one… there doesn’t appear to be a way to bolt it on… the lower one… I was hanging upside down, trouble light in hand… the 2 bolts side by side have an area it could bolt onto… but then the single end isn’t anywhere close to a mounting spot… more looking…

I've got these on my RT1 because of the rim locks and it's really smooth on the road..
None of my other bikes have rim locks and so aren't balanced.

Up oh… something has gone wonky… I can not post a picture…. And the writing is half hidden…
I did the peel and stick ones.. perhaps as I was applying them they seemed awkward..

I went for a ride today… I was able to get to 55! And only 5500 rpm’s! I’m ok with that speed…
I also took the exhaust off and now about to get a backyard fire going to cook it… one of the 4 screws holding the fancy guard on busted.. oh nuts.. well, I’ll deal with it before I paint it…
I’ve still gotta mount the new front tire and put new brake shoes in… I hope I don’t have problems like a few of you have with this piece of the puzzle…
I’m looking forward to some time riding this summer… been a long time just doing short “test runs” .

I took the front tire off today…. Pulled the brake side out and one of the the brake pads just fell out… I’ll consider myself lucky I didn’t do any acrobatics over the handlebars..

Shortly after getting my 76 DT400 I decided that new brakes would probably be a good idea, to be safe, good thing too my front brake did the same thing.  So, when I got my DT2 I bought new brake shoes, they were still intact but looked really glazed.
