Welcome from NZ. I had one of those exact models in about 1990 & lively it was too. Wife & i were on an organised charity trail ride up in the hills but were a bit slow & got left behind by most of the entrants & got lost in the low cloud--quite scary that was lol. Great little bike though.

That's a very fine looking bike you have there......but I reckon you're 'pushing your luck' if you think Yamaha are going to help you under Warranty after 44 years..!!   . Seriously though good luck with the resto and remember if you are struggling to make her 'fire' there is plenty of expertise from fellow forum members.

 Welcome from Bob,south central Pennsylvania. I have a 1976 C model myself. I am just now starting on mine and will have some questions too. Take your time, That starter / generator set up makes things a little more complicated. A good Motobat battery is a good start. 

Hi Vintage Yamaha Enduro fans!
I am a former vintage motocross racer with AHRMA and CalVMX. My past racebikes include a 73 MX250, 74 MX125, 77 YZ125 and 73 Husky WR125. My current project is a nice, but problem riddled 74 DT360 (just posted my frst question!). Looking forward to getting my baby on the road and trails and getting a CT1 or DT125 next.

I spent a load of £££ buying what I thought were parts missing from my bike, until I realised that a previous owner had (sensibly) replaced the cdi with the DT250A points system! 

Wow! I've seen that happen before! Yes, my bike is very clean, but all the good looks are on the outside. Lots of corroded terminations in the headlight housing resulting in extremely poor grounds and other connections. I am sure the handlebar switches will be similar.
