I decided to listen to a few of the forum members and think it's in too nice condition to change too many things. I've been riding it at least once a week, mainly dirt roads. It runs great and really only needed a little going over.

Hey guys this seems like an awesome place to chat Yamaha! I currently do not own a Enduro but am hunting on FB marketplace and craigslist daily. I have come across a complete project 1979 DT175. Seller says he has the motor.

175's are great bikes... that one may be missing a lot... if you get it really cheap it might not matter but often cheaper to buy something that's complete. The little stuff can add up fast.

Hey guys, just recently purchased two 1970 Yamaha AT1 and a 1971 Honda CL 175.
All three are projects currently, the only one that doesn’t run is the Honda.

I have numerous Yamaha dirt bikes (and one bastard Honda XR80R) that were all purchased back in the 70s/80's and I just held on to them all these years. My Covid summer was spent getting them all running. They are all in excellent shape, all original, close to like new condition. I raced AMA dirt track in the 70's and have a 1972 Yamaha DT2MX motor in a nickle plated Champion racing frame.

Hi
Names Dirk and i,m from the uk.
Got into bikes aged 12 and still mad about them at 54.
Mostly big suzuki,s but also have a fj1200 and a fireblade.
Got offered a ct2 175 that needs restoring so have to get up to speed on how these 2 strokes work.
Always something new to learn and may need some advice as i go along.
Will post up some pics soon
