I've been a member for a little while now but have been here more frequently now as I am doing some work to clean up my GT80 and just piked up most of L5T. Appreciate all the information as the site has been very helpful so far. Not all enduros but here are some of my other Yamaha 2t projects..

Who do I think I am? In the mid 70s, I was given a yamaha at1. So I stripped it and went racing. It was definitely not a race bike and got passed by everyone. I was having so much fun at the time that it did not sink in what happened until months later.

Hello. I'm Mike. My first motorcycle ever was when I was 12, 1978 GT80 (same year as my birth). My dad had a 1974 DT360 that he bought new and once I outgrew the 80 I would ride that out in the Oregon wilderness.

My dad just retired and gave me the 360. It hasn't started in over 10 years but I'm hoping to clean it up and ride it again. The only sad part it he pulled off all the lights, instruments, etc back in the late 70's and when I asked about them about 5 years back he said he had just thrown them out a month before. I could have died right then, they all were mint!

I think my biggest issues for now are going to be dealing with tank rust and getting the carb cleaned up.

Welcome. I think your biggest issue, though, is finding it in your heart to forgive your dad!!!! :ROFLOL
Have you torn the house apart to be sure he's not just misplaced all that gear?

The parts are gone for sure. The irony is that my dad is a borderline hoarder and keeps almost anything that has the slightest possibility of being used again. He was pissed at himself and used that as justification to not throw out anything else for quite a while.

Very nice car. My first car was a '72 240z. Wish I still had it.

Hi guys, John here from Ireland. Recently picked up a ‘77 DT250. As you can see from the photo I was more than a little chuffed the day I picked it up. Enjoying the forum and the wealth of info you guys have amassed and are willing to share.

Welcome! from just over the Irish Sea John.

I don't recall seeing any posts from members in Ireland before, so you might be the first.

Where did you source the bike from - US, UK or was it always an Irish bike?
