WW,
Agree. Period correctness a challenge on these '68 dt1's, but always enjoy the hunt....
Thanks,
swm

Thanks for the compliment, swm.

These can become a labor-of-love,
with one's desire to know everything
about every single part, on the bike.:S

Thanks, again

...

Done - But, I-doubt-it. ;)

Very hard to bring myself into - the
knowing that I am no longer 'waiting-on-parts'
for - this bike.

It is done
(for now) ...

This was the third pass, for - Final Set-Up,
on the lift. I did not want anything falling off,
on the first test-drive - For Sure.

*Paint engine covers to match and it's done.

This is the late-production - DT1-138XX.
A couple of hundred before production end.

Hello all! Just stumbled upon this thread lots of great info really enjoying it. I have a ‘68 DT1 I ride around the back roads here in Vermont, great little machines! Now the big question I have is do I restore it or leave it original?!

I would replace all the bearings and seals, do the motor, rust proof it and leave it . Just watch you don't break something that's irreplaceable and or bloody expensive.
