I'm just up the road in Bath.
Im a regulr visitor to Salisbury Plain.

Once again I have been out of touch on a long stretch of ill health since last August. About all I can say is that it's not cancer! But everything from colitis to Cronin's Disease to EPI to REM non-paralysis turning into Parkinson's has been suggested. Nothing seems right with my digestive track, but I have another GP appointment Thursday, so I'll get sent off in another direction for possible treatments.
I mentioned in my last posts in July that I sold my CT-2, and I also sold my '75 DT125B, again for a good price. In the intervening months, I have started work on three bikes, a '71 CT-1C, and a pair of AT-1s: a '71 AT-1C and a '69 AT-1E. I have created rollers out of all three with new tires, tubes, rim strips, brake shoes, bearings, and seals at both ends, and then the usual speedo and brake linkage/cables attention as well. Just last week I cut a 55-gallon drum in a 1/3 and 2/3 fashion and created a redneck patio fire pit out of the shorter section to burn exhaust pipes clean in. Did clean one, and I have a second to burn when the wind quits, if the wind ever quits. Next step will be to get the AT-1s running and install voltage regulators in all three. And to keep up with the forum again.

Glad to see you back on the forum Jim and still messing with the old Yamahas. Hope you get your health issues sorted out. I had to laugh at ”it’s not cancer!”. My wife and I are both cancer survivors, so I can relate to that analogy.

I think of you often when my daughter calls with stories of all the drama involved with being a high school band director. She finds herself being a student counselor as much as a band director. And I will never forget your offer to consult with her as she struggled thru her first student suicide. She’s been at it for 12 years now, so I assume it’s going to be a lifelong commitment.

Hi!  I'm in Florida and just joined the forum a couple weeks ago.  I am working on restoring a 1973 dt3 that hasn't started since 1989.  So far this forum has been incredibly useful and has provided me with a list of vendors and part numbers and given me a hint at what I've got myself into.
