Digger, just noticed your video.  Clean the point contacts.

Also, your very cool meter has an adjustment knob...  with meter wires connected together, you adjust so needle swings all the way to left and aligns with "0".  With clean points, you get that same zero reading.  As batteries lose charge, you readjust "zero".  If you can't get needle over to 0 with leads connected to each other, time for new batteries.

One other thing that can happen is that there is crud under the points mounting plate which is keeping the plate from ground to the stator plate.  You can remove the points (no need to disconnect wires) and make sure the underside of the points and the stator plate are both spotless.

It is a very nice points checker isn't it
i didn't know about calibrating it, no mention in the page of instruction ( won't call it a manual)
it's snappy to zero ( seller mentioned u11 batteries which have never heard of?)
crud is a possibility considering there's half a crank seal missing somewhere in there
have ordered new points now anyways and have a condenser knocking about, my soldering isn't what it should be though happy to give it a go though, it's hen back to timing it trying to run it, if all good then I will tear down clutch side again and look at the kick  start ratchet

I did give them some time with the grit and matters improved in terms of getting some sort of reading off the checker

ok so changed points out today, still a bit fluffy around timing (it think need to get new batteries in points checker possibly as readings are a bit intermittent)
however got the lutch cover off and anyone want to hazard a guess as to what pics attached are possibly from? looking like a complete tear down although it hasnt run since issue with kick start so hasnt seized running at least

You can probably verify it's that bearing without splitting case.  I don't know that you could fix it without splitting.
