Hey all-
Just a quick update.... Been away from the shop last couple of weeks preparing for Spring and Summer here in East Texas- I have been working around our property to clean up our back wooded area that has not been touch I am guessing for many years!
Being from Colorado previously- we would NEVER be doing any type of outdoor burning- So I am having a great time down here as fire is easily contained- God Bless Texas!

Anyway- I am almost done with this project.... just a couple more things to do and will then be getting the Freshly painted Gas Tank & Oil Tank put on the bike- Final Pictures and Video coming soon Stay Tuned!

Got a little Thunder Storm action going on here so was a good time to get back into the Shop and make a tad more progress on the MX Project...
Since the Timing was perfect on this bike... there was no need to check that so on with the new Head Gasket and get Cylinder Head on and bolted down

Torqued it down to 28 Ft-lbs

Carb Cleaned and now installed

Also did a little more bending and cutting to get my DIY Heat Shield to lay properly- Turned out pretty good as I wanted to give this Hooker Pipe a similar vibe to the GYT Pipe.

Not a lot left to complete on this project-- doing a little more polish work on the Gas and Oil Tank and to get the new decal on the Oil Tank... will soon be posting up complete shots of the bike and a Video of the first start up! Going to be an Amazing Bike to see it all dressed out.

Will now start to turn my attention to my other Thread I have started on the 1971 Yamaha DT 250 Enduro- Check it out!

Well kinda by dumb luck... I think I have found a Great substitute for the Metal Front Fender for the DT1 / RT1 MX bikes...
I am also restoring a 1971 Suzuki TC90 and thought I was going to need a new front fender for the bike based on how it looked prior to picking it up... so I order the fender off ebay and as it turnes out the Front Fender that was on the Suzuki was Ok and will restore ok...
So... I ended up with this extra Orginal Metal Front Fender and I instantly looked at my 71 DT1MX project thinking this fender is almost perfect and indeed it has the perfect shape and length that mimics the original fenders that are going for Outrageous Prices even if you can find one - This is a NOS TC90 Suzuki fender and there are a few of them on Ebay.
The Fender does come with 4 pre-drilled holes for the Suzuki mount but just filled them in with JBweld- will sand and fill the imperfections and prepare it for the Duplicolor silver and 2k Clear here soon...

I'm not to use words to describe this bike, its just too hard. Instead I'll just say I have what you call,
"I just saw big foot face"
