Hah.. Christmas gift gag.. My uncle had the old.. foil looking gift wrap.. wired to that an old coil from a snowmobile.. and a 6 volt battery.. some how a way to activate it.. he handed me the gift.. I was lit up like a Christmas tree…
And I saw quite a few other folks get the same treatment… He’s almost 90 now and still snickers at that…

I set the points to two settings. 1.9 and 2.9, the first photo is 1.9 mm.
1.9 is correct. I wanted to see if there was any spark anywhere.
The points, when I started, were not even close to any of the two settings!

Rapidrob!  ohms reading, points closed!  Ohms reading, points open!  Ohms reading ignition coil primary!  Ohms reading ignition coil secondary!  So many people wanna help ya, but your not helping us.  Starting to get a Troll kinda vibe from ya, so this is my last attempt...

Its been awhile since I posted. Brand new Points and condenser, not CHI-COM crap.
Still no spark. Its down to the source coil being bad or the magnets in the flywheel are weak.
With the IGNITION coil out of the circuit, and a new direct wire coming off of the source coil, I;m barley getting 28VAC peak voltage. Not enough to excite the ignition coil as the manual says up to 300 VAC from the source coil.

I looked back & have two videos & a video link before that in the text. Have a bit of a story before each vid. Might--or might not be worth looking at. I'd forgotten about them but i 'think' i did one spinning with e drill & plug out. But someone quite rightly pulled me up as its of limited use doing that as is way above kick start rotation. That might've been on another story not sure. Peak volts was the running one but others look just my old yamaha meter in the green box.
Post #38 i just realised i forgot to put. Back some pages.
