Boy that brings back memories. We would load up our tires with sheet metal screws and ride on the frozen lake. Used to give the snowmobiles a good run for their money.

It’s quite a hoot! Couldn’t help myself as I’d just put together an engine and wanted to take it for a spin! Will be a fun little winter rat to stave off the parked motorcycle blues I get this time of year. It’s come a long ways in a few weeks! Photo of how I found it! Previous owners grandfather took it all apart in 1980! 40 years later and it’s back alive!

@RT325 Every time I see your avatar I thought we must be brothers from another mother on the other side of the world, I have some similar photos of me in my younger days around 1977? I finally found them while preparing for a move. The first and second photo is on a YZ250 and then on a TT500, that is in El Paso Texas, USA, that area is now a shopping center.

Had to get one more ride in before the snow, supposed to be 2' here by Monday. One part of the ride reminded me of what incredible machines these are. The dirt was good today, so I attempted a single track hill climb I'd failed at last year on the WR250R [with a +3 rear sprocket and rekluse clutch]. The WR would either loose traction or didn't have enough low end power to make the slow speed turns required in the steepest section. It took two attempts on the CT2, and some key push dabbing a few times, but the hardest part was keeping the front tire down in the steepest sections. The suspension is pretty rough and it may not have been fast, but we got to the top.

I love those satisfying hill climbs when you don’t lose the power band halfway up. I tumbled my first bike (74 DT360) on this one long steep hill as I was first learning to ride competently. I kept at it until I realized I wouldn’t have a bike left if I kept trying that one. Never did make the top of that one but planted my flag on most of them. Looks like you had a great ride.

Almost embarrassing to post after Darinm's epic mountain scene, although I do have The Queen's herd of Red Deer in the background.
Was nice to get out in the sunshine.
