Did a 100 mile ride on the 'ol DT1 this past Sunday in Norcal. We had some unseasonable warmth, no wind and mid-70's. None of my buddies were available so off I went! Unincorporated roads to a Ranch Cafe called the Junction in remote Santa Clara county, then down past I5 to Patterson, then farm roads to Tracy, then Corral Hollow past good 'ol Carnegie OHV park and back home. DT1 never missed a beat!

The Junction Cafe was in the midst of the firestorm in the Santa Clara/Stanislaus county hills this past summer. There is a Cal Fire station, literally 1/4 mile from this location, and they saved it. Every single surrounding area of the Cafe burned, and could see many ranch houses lost during the ride.

hi - just saw your post regarding location. according to the trail marker it looks like it's state forest route 6n21 - this is in texas canyon a.k.a. rowher flats. see attached screen shot. i live in southern california and have several vintage dual sports i take out to the desert (johnson valley, red mountain, cal city, etc ) and have several vintage friendly dual sport loops. pm me if you're interested in a ride.

Actually that is Del Puerto Road between Mines Road & I5 in unincorporated Stanislaus county...wow that's a mouthful!
In Northern Cal/East Bay/Central Valley. In my younger years I spent alot of time riding Red Mountain & Stoddard Wells.

I crossed the grapevine on Tuesday, it opened up at noon, it was closed for about a day and a half. When we got to the top I expected to see a ton of snow, not....

Thanks Mark

I think it was the wind and snow combination that shut it down, we had the same up here. First time I've headed out and just turned around, no visibility, even at 2mph or less, hard or impossible to tell where the road was. Saw it the next day when the wind was gone, ten to twenty cars/trucks had driven off of the road or into the median and gotten stuck.
