Well it has been cold and snowy in Colorado and it always this time of year I start thinking about riding in the So Cal sunshine!

With Cali Dream'in #7 I am sure will be announced soon... I need to start the planning phase on which bikes to bring and to do my annual go over on each bike to have them ready for some awesome riding.

So.... this year I will be bringing 3 bikes with me... the trailer will be full! LOL

The infamous RT Black widow bike- My replica 1975 MX400 and the almighty YZ 465.

In addition- I have also been itching to start restoring a couple more of my other 360 Badge tanks bikes (1970 and 1971 RT1's) that have been in waiting and was using the gas tank off the 71 on the black widow.,,,

So I will be putting the old RT3 tank back on the widow bike as it is basically an RT3- but sure cannot slap a stock looking paint job on it...

Since the tank will need to be gloss Black... been thinking about all the different decals out there and what might best lay down and provide a one of kind look...

I have decided to go with the 72 DT2mx tank decal and should be able to adapt it nicely to the RT3 tank-

Here is my very poor attempt at being an artist but you get the idea... will put some silver back ground under the clear area of the red stripe and white lettering should really pop~

the tank has some dings and dents but nothing i can't smooth out and use my rattle can paint method that I used on the MX400 tank... We'll see how it turns out.

Don't worry Greg, I will live in your garage. And get it done for you day or night,
Tell your wife there may be some late night noise ( Its a California thingy...we can be noisy at certain times )
with a grinder or something like a bike or 6 of them , all started at once.
Can I ride my old bike?
C'Mon Greg, let her know that you adopted a 60 year ol' kid.

Hey Greg, nice paint.
Along with bringing DT360, i'm getting the kinks worked out on the Bultaco, Mikuni carb, and a de-compression valve, (the chain saw type), plus getting my body in shape to start the beast. I'm considering buying a KDX200 or 220.
Getting in condition probably helps the most.
Thanks Mark

Amen brother on the conditioning... riding that desert will do a number on you as all you Cali boys know. I start hitting the stationary bike a couple of months before to get the legs ready then a lot of arm and grip exercise to keep the strength grip strong.

Dammit Greg! I've been humming and whistling the "California Dreamin" song all day... can't get it out of my head!

For those who haven't seen it, here's a great video of Cal Dreamin 1 by Lance... if you see somebody fall off it's probably me. :Ugh

P.S. Who's bringing the firewood? :ROFLOL

Not just you... looks like they are stored and linked to Photobucket so either it's a problem with Photobucket (again!) or files got moved around in his account and are no longer linked correctly.

This reminds me of one of the GREAT features of this forum... the ability to upload and store pictures here directly without having to use a third party like Photobucket. You don't see broken photo links when the photos are stored here using the attachment function. :likey

Of course, while the forum is free, hosting all that storage isn't... and we aren't inundated with pop-up ads to help pay the costs of maintaining this place which reminds me I haven't made a donation to this forum in a while. Link to donate is down on the right margin of most pages or under the "Community" tab at the top of the page for those who'd like to join me.
