Just me maybe & others are welcome to disagree. But in the circumstances considering i'm guessing you had it timed close to correct when points replaced, i'd just open them to a nipping 15 on the feeler gauge & go try it. Timing should be in the ball park or closer. Just be sure you're checking the gat correctly. Opening 'or just moving' is when the pointer & knotch in the window align--which i'm sure you know--so max open gap is about when that slot gets around with points still visible to poke a feeler blade in. I'm slightly guessing the last comment not having my bike in front of me. With practice--60+ years of it lol--you get good at eyeballing gap & moment of opening. Probably 65 years if i count my 125 excelsior when i was 11 haha.

Hey RT325, using the multi meter on the Rx1 setting it appears my pointer and mark are not correct so going by that would be a no go.  PM sent.

We have success!!!  Following RT325's (Morely) instructions along with the caution of Mark T's using the multi meter with the Rx1 setting I have set the points to just start open when the timing marks align and now she runs like a bored 1st over, ported with a large carb on it should.  I can actually get the front wheel off the ground and not having to pull on the bars.  To recap, my points weren't opening, I couldn't even see them move when rotating the flywheel so with the help of this forum and and a couple select peeps I'm now happy

Thank you guys!  Now I can get back to fine tuning the carb but I believe it is really close.  Pulled the plug after a nice ride around town and it looks pretty good, maybe slightly lean but will give it some more run time since it was a new plug.
