After a year of trying to decide, I ordered the Vape ignition kit for my CT3:

Vape Link

I ordered it on the 5th and it showed up at my house in South Carolina on the 8th.

The kit was $370 plus $52 for shipping (Which is why it took me a year to decide to order) I ordered direct from Vape as it was cheaper than ordering from the various US resellers. Part number 781279900.

I will provide updates on my installation etc when I am done.

Here's a recently posted video of a guy installing a Vape system on a 1973 CT3:

Vape System install on a CT3

He also installed 12v LEDs:

(Don't be a hater..... he didn't keep all the lights original)

I removed the old system and installed the new stator and flywheel:

The marks are lined up at top dead center (point of ignition)

It all went according to instructions from Vape so far.

Marks should line up 1.8mm BTDC, not TDC.

Blue wire that guy was grounding in first video simply connects to stock kill switch circuit.

I have a VAPE related question.

Adim:  I'll ask here on this thread (similar subject), but if not appropriate feel free to move elsewhere.

I am very close to making a 12V conversion and purchasing the VAPE system for my  RT2.  They are available in a AC version and a DC version.  Thus my question....

Why the difference, and which is is correct for a US bike (if that even enters into the equation).

I'm confused.

Input appreciated.

Same system... AC version just doesn't come with rectifier/regulator and would be more suitable for a dirt bike with no battery/lights.

Then definitely DC system.  Battery & lights will be in place.
