Very cool bike! Just curious, are the blue "ears" for something else? Or replacing the orange ones?

Thanks- Yeah I just laid them out- I will be using the Ears that are on the bike-  the only Tin part that was missing from this bike was the stock low fender and I have a few of those so good to go on that.

Once again will get after all the parts and pieces withe the Purple Power and Power Washer for degreasing and final Cleanup to prep for needed next steps...  Likely will be again painting all Black Gloss parts as I did on my MX project.... Really happy with the results of the Eastwood Gloss Black Chassis paint!

Greg, I just bought a 22 liter ultrasonic cleaner for my shop and after a few uses I can already tell that it is going to be a heavily used tool!  You might want to check them out. With the cases split, a case half fits perfectly in it and they came out so clean. No toothbrush or paper towels!  I put a few pounds of oily bolts in there just to test and it really does the work for you.

I have been looking at them and just could not decide on which size to get... Great the engine cases fit in the 22 liter....

Which one did you buy?

What type of cleaning solution do you use?

Assuming the cleaning agent does not chemically react to the aluminum?

That's the one I got, the Vevor. They have good reviews and it does a great job. I'm still learning it, but from the videos I see on YouTube, those guys add WAY more soap than I did.  I added maybe 1/2 cup for the whole volume and it worked great!  I think the heat is a big factor too. I set it at 78C. I have tried Super clean, a Zepp orange citrus cleaner and the LA Awesome from the dollar store. They all work great!!!

Greg, what do you think my DT1-CM is worth? I got excited and now have too many motorcycles, the bike is complete and original and starts easily and runs good. I'm thinking I need to sell my 69 DT1 or the 70 DT1-CM as I have my eye on another bike to ride around my area. I could no figure out how to send pics.

Both are great years and very desirable bikes- seems they are getting harder to find out there for sure!

Here is the general rule I follow- but it really does come down to the condition of the bike and where your located... but ultimately it really comes down to what someone is willing to pay... I have seen some pretty crazy (selling prices) on these great old Enduro's over the past few years.

Value Ranges (approximate):
  • Excellent/Showroom: $8,000 - $10,000+ (fully restored, pristine)
  • Very Good: $4,000 - $6,000 (well-maintained, minor imperfections)
  • Good: $2,000 - $5,000 (usable, some cosmetic flaws, solid mechanically)
  • Fair/Poor: $700 - $2,000 (needs significant work, parts bike, or running project)
