Hi,
I have just joined this Forum, wish I had found this earlier!! I am about halfway through rebuilding a 1974 Yamaha DTA 250, It has been in my family since 1976 and has been sitting in my garage for the last 40 years. I have many happy memories bush bashing on this bike and it was my only mode of transport for a few years.
Yes !it has taken this long for me to get off my backside and start this project, (retirement helps!) it's completely dismantled at the moment but I will post some pictures as I start to reassemble.

Just in the process of refurbishing the original rear shocks but not sure if this is possible as I cannot find the parts for them, does anybody know?

Kind regards to all Yamaha DT enthus

Hello All,Long time Yamaha guy here. Past 15 years I've been very big into stand up jet skis (Yamaha SuperJets), living near the beach in Connecticut. Moved further inland recently and decided its time to restore an old '76 MX80 thats been in a shed since forever. Also just picked up a '71 DT250 and that will be hitting work bench after the 80. Sites seems like a great knowledge base!

New member. My first bike other than mini bikes was a JT2 mini enduro 60. I e had numerous bikes since then but recently bought a 74 DT175 project bike. I’m partial to the 70’s enduro/scrambler bikes. I have a 72 Honda CL450, 73 MT250 and a 75 XL250. Along with about 7 other bikes. Looking forward to getting this bike back on the road after a long hibernation.

Hello Gentlemen, New member here. My name is David and I'm a retired Postal Worker. Yes, an old guy. I became a member due to the fact that I recently purchased a Yamaha RT1 360 Enduro. It has some issues but hope to get those worked out.  I am really excited about just getting out and spending a lot of time riding this bike.
One of my most memorable moments as a teen was in 1970 when I was handed the keys to my brand new Yamaha 90 HT1 Enduro. This was at Smith's Sport Cycles in Tuscaloosa Alabama (Roll Tide). All eyes in the shop were on me as I walked over to take possession of my new bike. I started looking up near the speedometer to insert my key (had owned a Yamaha 80) in the ignition and oh no it's not there. I nervously looked for that ignition acting like I was just checking the bike over. I did not want them to know I did not know where it was. Found it (under the tank) to my relief.  What a drive home. That sound, those grips, that power. What a piece of art and so dependable.  Of course, I had to go straight to my girlfriend's house and show off my new bike.
I have owned other bikes including a 74 DT250 but that Yamaha 90 was special.
