Speedo drive gear swap - What tool ? was created by tee_cee

Hi All,

I found a good 21 inch wheel to replace my 19 inch front wheel.  I need to swap the speedo drive gear from a donor brake assembly to my brake plate.

I can't figure out how to get the 'bush' out that retains the worm gear - it looks like it has some sort of internal slots.

Grind down a screwdriver to fit ?

Have any of you found a good way to do this?

Just grind the centre out of a wide screwdriver.
