It's been a while since I was here.  Getting my 1974 DT175A finished up.  I had an unreasonable amount of engine work done by Rich Gagnon ( thanks Rich! ), and she's a ripper now!

Getting proper springs on a bike is always a good move.

Do any of you have advice on what and where to get springs ( both ends ) and shocks ( originals probably not so good ) for my 250 pound lard butt?  I found some $800 air shocks out there, but that's a bit much for me.

This bike is gonna be an ice cream getter, and some easy fire road / rail trail rides.  She's too pretty to take in the rocks and mud.

I didn't find much here, other than maybe getting DT250 parts.

Shock with heavier wo way damping plus stronger springs would be a good idea. I'm not up on Hagon but I thought they carried on with gas girlings after girling finished. We had girlings by the truck load at work back in the day as we were the nz importer for girling at the time. They were available in soft medium & hard damping. Still might only need soft for standard mounting twin shock but ask Hagon. They might ask your weight & what model bike plus if shocks on original mounts. Hope I'm not talking too much rubbish lol. Just to edit. Gas immersion shocks as gas girlings were, must be fitted upside down to work so chain sprocket clearance you'd need to keep in mind.
