On my 70 CT1B the forks were not the same color as the front fender and I believe they still had the factory paint. They were dirty in this photo but maybe it helps in some way. I suppose it’s possible that the paint on the forks aged differently than the fender but the fender seems to be more silver than the forks.

The paint code part of the part number for both the lower fork and both fenders is identical ( -35 ) .
Any variation could be due to differences in paint mix at source .
They would have been painted at the factory at different times .
I know there was considerable differences in the Dark Green RD 350 / DT3 tank colours .

Thanks for the paint ideas. pint of silver and calif orange should get it done. does anyone need a headlight bucket and mounting ears? I bought a set online in excellent condition but were green. going to paint those at the same time. Got a free fender in the deal too.

Got the KDI repro parts in. Decided foam was too far gone, so picked up foam, strips for edge and new cover.
claiming not a resto bike, but the seat is!
Pic of foam

still getting used to Eastwood paint, but looks great and even better is a durable, hard paint.

Ok, so degreased x 2, scuffed/sanded. Used DupliColor's Grease/Wax remover (very important step). This is the first coat of Eastwood's Extreme Chassis Black Gloss.
I practiced w/this paint on the seat base and metal parts first. Found the characteristic that it likes to be put on light and settles out nicely afterwards.
1st coat Eastwood's Extreme Chassis Black Gloss.

This is the second and final coat for the frame. Frame was scuffed between coats and in this case was applied 48 hours after first coat.
*with all the small, hidden, and hard to reach places of a frame, it was very helpful using an LED flashlight to constantly find the dry spots.
credit to GFrench for the original idea to use this paint.

The GOOD news is I found what appears to be a great match for the paint. I'll have to finish it before posting my final thoughts. The BAD is I'm welding a hole in the tank only to find out the tank is thin in that spot. The UGLY is the weld.

haha. I may stitch in a piece of metal in IF I'm lucky.
More good news is I also have custom silver the paint shop created for me.
