A tool probably exists in the speedo repair world.

To build one, I am a visioning a split ring that maybe can be activated using a vice grip arrangement? It really could look kind of like an oil filter wrench or similar design.

Hmmm. Now I need to go back to the Harbor freight sale . . .

My question is how do you get the top ring of the speedo and tach without messing them up. I was going to try but I chickened out for fear of damaging them beyond use. Allz I got is a hamma and scwedriver  Got any pics of the disassembly Devin.

Tiki I like your set-up. I am imagine it took some precision to get it to fit just how you wanted it to. I was thinking of a design like that. Did yours seal the top ring flush again or close? I noticed you painted yours, the process is the same except you have to remove the two screws and orange needle off. Then you can clean the face. I applied a decal over the face. A couple suppliers can be found on Ebay. DEET can also make them. I would like to look into making my own stickers eventually.

Scott - I wrapped it in tape, i still got some dings. They are not noticeable because the rubber covers it, someday I could repair these dings, but I see no reason for now, down the road before chrome plate I would fix them.
