Can you post up a picture of what it looks like? I think if I recall that it needs to extend down from the tank a bit more than the one pictured above in order to clear the tank seam. If that is correct, then you need one kind of like the TW200 uses. Here are the part numbers that DEET posted up as being generally compatible. Note that the one that has the handle down a bit has a slightly smaller flow:

23F-24500-00-00
List $16.02, Net $12.09
Outlet: 6mm (3/16")
Handle sits about an inch below the tank
Right side outlet

3JN-24500-02-00
List $17, Net $12.15
Outlet: 7mm (1/4")
Handle is close to tank
Right side outlet

2GU-24500-02-00
List $26.77, Net $18.59
Outlet: 8mm (5/16")
Handle is close to tank
Right side outlet
IF it isn't one thing, it's another.

We're here for you, Bro! Most all of us have been in the same boat, which is one of the reasons this site exists - to help folks avoid the (sometimes very expensive) mistakes others have made.

FWIW, the 3JN-24500-02-00 petcock can be used in lots of other non Yamaha applications, can be used also to rid yourself of a faulty vacuum operated petcock as long as the vacuum port is plugged.

Get the factory petcock washers from Yamaha. Still available, and still the best solution! They have a sealing washer built in.
