Right now I am about 60% into my refurbishing of these two JTs. The red one didn't run when I bought it for $600 with a spare parts bike that was worth nothing. I think the extra bike was found on the bottom of a lake or creek as it was solid rust. The white, purple, and pink creation actually ran like a top when I bought it for $300. I think it is quicker and faster than my GT80, which has me questioning a future top end for my GT.

This little Z50 wraps it up for my collection. My boss obtained this bike for free and asked if I could get it running for his grandkids to ride. Upon further investigation, it needed a lot of work to be worthy of safely putting your grandkids on it. And when grandma found out about grandpas plan she immediately shut it down. He asked if I wanted it. I was honest with him and explained that it is an extremely collectible bike. He simply said "do you want it or not?" It's going to be my retirement project, and it will be my first attempt at a true restoration. Zero dollars invested so far!

Great collection Schu! Thanks for sharing!

P.S. Those little rotary valve engines are powerful for their size... even with a new top end the GT80 might not be able to keep up!

I forgot one! I picked up this JT for $200. I was in need of a good front fender and a good air cleaner assembly. My research was showing that I was going to probably have to lay out about $100 for both items combined. Then I came across this for $200 and brought it home. It's one of those parts bikes that is complete enough to bring back. My wife says I am running a Yamaha Rescue Shelter, except nothing ever leaves the shelter...

Talk about ugly!

Done. It has now been entered in the ugly contest. But there are two dead ringers on the podium already.
