I have the wires soldered together and fastened behind the points plate. Timed it last night as well. Now all I have left is to put the head back on and install the relocated condenser. I’m curious if it matters if I tie the condenser into the black plug coming from the stator into the main loom or the black plug right off the ignition coil. Planning on doing the coil but the stator plug would be an easier install I think.

Anywhere along the black that's convenient gets the same result.

Thanks RT. I got it installed today and it went well. Started first kick after being stored for 6 months. The bike still doesnt want to rev past 400 rpm though which has been the problem I have been chasing over the last year.I have put in two new main jet O rings, burned the exhaust twice, and currently dont have the air box hooked up. Been through the carbs numerous times. Just timed it right to 3.2 mm btdc. Maybe it just doesnt have the compression to run out. I havent checked the ignition coil I guess.

Do you have another tach you can try?

It won't rev with no load? Or are you talking about in 5th gear up a hill?

I know it isn't the tach, I have tried the one from my rt3 but I can also hear it. It doesnt sound anything like it should at the higher rpms. (just checked my ignition coil the resistances checked out) It does it under load or not. Goes right up to 4000 and holds there. It will rev out for a second if I shut off the gas and right before the bowl runs out it can rev closer to 6000. Which leads me toward carb again. But it has stock settings in it so I cant imagine it would be that far off to act like this.

Worth noting as well that when I first got the bike it revved out. But it had a vacuum leak and then I fixed that and put new crank seals in as well. Sometime after that it developed the problem of running for a while and then dying and now not revving out. Long story short it has never quite right in the few years I've had it.

Hate to say it but still sounds like exhaust, especially if it revs as it runs out of fuel in the bowl.
Might rev but not making much power!!.
That spiraly thingy deep in the end is the source of a lot of grief but guess you have to leave it in there to be safe in the forrest.
Could cut a section out of the back-side around the area & see what shows.
Another terrible way to proove a point would be to space the flange out at the cylinder with a couple of washers so ya getting some sort of silencing "neighbors" but letting it flow more & go rev it down the road so you'll get an indication if ya on the right track.
So long as your Oring is ok--which you've replace so shold be ok. Main jet is in place. Choke is off-lever up. Video could help. Sorry to just go on & on about exhaust but i'm yet to be convinced otherwise.
I'd better go read the story properly.
I've seen a homemade base gasket with the transfers not cut out. Ran but was flat 'as'.

Thank you for the help! I really would rather not cut up my pipe if I don’t have too, it is pretty nice and I am not a good welder haha. I don’t ride forest really so I will take that out if there is a way (drilling?). I’m not picking up on that washer idea very well could you explain that more? I can try and post a video tomorrow night

Did you use bike buzzard seals or OEM Yamaha?

Yep just meant where the pipe flange bolts to the cylinder, add a washer behind the flange on the bolts to step it forward & leave a gap to let a small amount of exhaust escape from there to see if it helps & points to the pipe being still blocked. Maybe a bad idea so give that a miss i think.
Besides the gasket that steps into the cylinder would need removing or it'll jangle around.
Just an alternative to removing the whole exhaust & heading down the road--chased by police lol.
