That's what I thought would be the case.

It sounds like the battery power is not not making it to the key switch (red wire) or battery is dead?

I say that because key on in daytime position I would connect red to brown and give you neutral, horn, and brake.

Then in position II nighttime the red would still connect to brown but now would also connect to the tallight blue...

Could be a bad switch but not as likely that 3 sets of contacts would go bad at same time?

Good eye Gr8uncleal... it does look like maybe a VAPE coil is installed?

The problem could be incorrect wiring when installing the new system... from other posts on here it seems VAPE might not be providing Yamaha model-specific wire diagrams and instructions.

I did convert it to a Vape 12Volt system but I had this issue before doing the conversion. All of the bulbs have been replaced with 12v.

I am testing it in the second position for the ignition.

Key switch should have power coming into it via red wire. Red wire goes to fuse and then from fuse to switch. That's the first thing to check and most likely the problem from your symptoms... red wire may have broken off of back of switch.

With key on in either position you should then have power at brown coming out of key switch which it sounds like you don't.

OK, MarkT...... I checked the fuse and I have power coming to it (Good).....    I move to the next connection on the red wire and it is the plug that connects to the ignition switch.   I unfortunately have no power at that connection.

Between the fuse and this connection, it is 100% all original wrapped in the black tape from the factory, with no evidence of damage :(

OK, So I switched out the OEM old fuse system to a newer blade style and it in fact is blowing the 10A fuse.......   I put in a 20A and although it didn't blow it, I still don't have any brake, Neutral or blinker lights.

Any words of advice on what to check for next that might be blowing the fuse?

GR8..... I did convert all of the bulbs to 12V incandescent on the turn signals, LED for everything else.

I have the four wires that are no longer in use after installing the Vape 12V system:   White, Green, Double Red and a black (see pic)

Vape instructions were VERY poor.

Does anyone have experience with installing the Vape system to know if the four wires should all be unused?   (White, green, double red and black)?

Can you describe how you wired it?  What did you do with stock rectifier?

I'm not sure why the "double red" would not be connected?

I don't know what i'm talking about--but guessing i would've thought a double red might have the main fuse into it & then to the battery. Ok--i dunno.
