That's good to know. So it could very well be correct that the DT3/DT3's take the 510-11651-00-00 rod listed in the parts schematic. We are all still learning.

I guess that's correct but would use the 24 pin & fat bearing in DT3. That rod will be 5 mm shorter than a 214 i think??. Am i just causing confusion lol.

Wow thanks for all the great reply’s! I would agree a whole mm would be hard to be off by on a measurement but I do not have the crank apart and am measuring the pin off of the side and it appeared to be 24mm then. I am planning on sending the crank in to get rebuilt with new bearings washers and pin. Sounds like I need the 25mm set up. Thanks for the great help. I do have a dt3 as well so this info was a double help for when I end up rebuilding that one.

I really hope i'm not going to add confusion but are you sure you have a 360 crank?. 360 pin just clears the step where the crank main bearing butts up. 250 cranks have the pin encroaching into the bearing step. Ok, found pics online--easier tan finding my own haha.

RT325,
What is the size of the lower bearing you have for the 25mm? Is it 25x31x20 or 25x32x20?
I would suggest to BHEPP15 to take your engine completely apart and then measure what you have. Most likely a 25mm lower end i would think.
I am checking further into this later this week. I sure wish i had my parts list on the RT3 360 engines i built in the past. I usually save them for reference.

Umm, ok i've never bothered to measure one. But here we go. First thing you couldn't go 32 OD in a 214 rod as it's only 31mm. So my bearing measures 30.80 OD & 25.70 ID & is 19,50 long. Hope i'm not confusing things but the discrepency compared to what you ask is just running clearance for the cage inside the rod & on the pin. Somewhere around [wonder if its still running lol] i had an AG100 [yamy 100 farm bike] & being tighter than a fishes backside [water tight] & hate spending money lol & having no good cage i just stacked if full of rollers. Machined up my damaged cage ends as washers inside the rod to keep rollers in & away from the thrust rollers & worked a treat. Road it around here for quite a while then someone wanted it so i tried to steer him away but he bought it & headed up into the hills. Maybe he's still there--Umm. I had extra rollers or enough new roller from something, to be able to crowd them together. No recommending i might say.!!.

Thanks for the pics rt! I have the 360 crank in. Also I agree I should take it all apart but I don’t have the tools to split the crank so I am sending it out and have the 25mm if I get it wrong I guess I’ll have to order the 24mm and spend $50. But from the sounds of jt 25mm is correct.

RT325,
I see that now. I should have just measured the Rod before asking the question. I finally was able to talked to a old friend the other day. He was 1st a mechanic then became a parts manager late. Started working in 1965 at our local Honda/Yamaha dealership. He still is currently working in the parts department feeding the technicians there parts needed. I think he is almost 80!
I asked him about the 24 and 25mm lower bearings. From what he remembers the RT 360's always used the 25mm lower bearing from day one which seams to make the most since.
I also asked him if he remembers when the 68 DT1's came out and asked did they receive any here in our small local dealership? I showed him a picture of mine and he smiled and said Oh Yes. One of the mechanics bought the 1st one that came in and the installed a gytr kit on it. They had a small riding area behind the dealership and he remembers how fast and advanced the bike was at that time. They just became a Yamaha dealership a few years before 68.
Anyways i was able to get together all the correct parts now so i have a 24mm DT1 250 kit and a 25mm RT1 360 rod kit. All NOS or genuine Yamaha parts if someone needs one. It will be a little more expensive then aftermarket parts but always the best way to go. These are the 214 rods 130mm long.

Thanks for the update, but i'm a little confused. What kit did you end up using if you have one of each for sale. Cheers.
