Rt3 crank pin size was created by bhepp15

I’m sure the information is here, I can’t seem to find jt anywhere using the search but what is the rt3 crank pin size. The parts diagram is telling me it’s a 24 and I am fairly sure I measured it to 24 but it is still installed on crank so not all that accurate. I have read a few different things that lead me to believe it could be 25. Just want a confirmation before buying crank rebuild parts thanks.

Haven't got one on hand but thought the 360 was 1mm larger than the 250 & used smaller roller to make it fit with the same conrod. [can't prove it though till later] so my guess is 25mm. I remember the yz250a used the bigger pin with the smaller rollers. I have one of those cranks somewhere.

This pretty much proves it. Size is down in the listing.

Parts list shows two different part numbers for the pin, two different parts for the bearing, and two different parts for the washers... as well as two different connecting rods. Pretty sure 2X4 prefix is the 360 pin and it should be 25mm.

All the RT3's i rebuilt had the 214-11651-01 rod in them which is 130mm long with 24mm pin and bearing. I am pretty sure Rod 431-11651-00-00 is the same.

If you determine yours is the same i do have a complete rod kit all NOS yamaha parts if interested.

RT325 shows below it most likely uses a 25mm lower end (same rod) on the 360 so double check your measurements. I did just ordered a 25mm pin, bearing and washers so i will have both kits.

Here are some pictures. Last picture is the new ROD kit.

We can't all be right. I'll go find some flywheels for a measure.

Yes, 214/431 is the correct rod from what I remember.

Some models had a 24mm pin and corresponding bearing and others had a 25mm pin and corresponding bearing... same 214/431 rod.

I thought Enduronut said here the 360 used the 25mm pin... but I can't find the post. So maybe it was someone else or might just be "logic" telling me larger pin was on the 360? But sometimes "logic" doesn't work with Yamaha parts.

I've got a 360 pin here at 25mm & a 250 pin at 24. 25 fits in a 214 rod with the skinnier rollers & cage, which is how its meant to be. Possibly because rollers sitting 1mm further out spin faster & fat rollers wouldn't like it-- [does that sound feasible haha] i dunno.

It does if you have it there and it all fits good? So are the rollers half the size of the 24mm bearing?  Good to know it fits because now i can purchase the 25mm bearing and pin and have both set ups. One for the 250's and one for the 360's. I have 2 new 214 rods. I don't have my parts list from my RT3 builds (too long ago) so i can't confirm what pin and bearing i used in them. Only the 214 rods.

Only thing, it doesnt explain why BHEPPLS measured his at 24mm?  1mm should be noticable with dial indicator.

My cranks are in my lockup, but heres a 214 rod listed for 250 360 & 400 models. Pin--bearing--& washer size being the difference between 250 to bigger motors.
