Mikuni Tuning Manual is in the Tech Library. Most people talk about a problem at a certain "RPM" which, if true, is NOT likely to be jetting.

There are multiple circuits in the carb with some overlap... The critical thing to know is how far the throttle is open when the problem happens. Then you jet that circuit.

One way to tell rich or lean is to go from the problem throttle opening where it's bogging and then quickly close the throttle slightly... say from full to 3/4 throttle. If lean, the bike will surge forward (accelerate) for a split second when you close the throttle a little.

It's all in the manual.

What surprises me the most about some of these jetting threads is we're not hearing about seizures and holes in pistons when people are dropping the needle all the way down or making other major lean adjustments... Might be because the engine is tired (low compression) or timing is way off which could be the real reasons for the engine not pulling as strong as it should?
