Mark, how are you seeing pics of the meter. I'm feeling deprived lol.

The little wire coming out of the 49 year old coil, like I said earlier , feels wobbly in the plastic molded casing, I'm treating it very carefully so as not to disrupt the connection .as the bike does run . I thought of replacing the coil. It is a solid black wire , no white stripe. The wire connected to it from the new loom is a solid black wire also

RT325. yes the Simpson model was mentioned and I looked it up online.

Jewelkutter, I got back with the DT250 harness... previous owner started goofing around with "rewiring"... not sure what the goal was but they managed to melt some wires and they did remove the wrap tape so I can actually show you how the wires are run inside the harness.
On your key, the black and black/white should connect to each other when key is off and disconnect from each other when key is on.
The red and brown do the opposite... they are not connected with key off and then they connect with key on.
I'm exhausted... I will try to post photos of wiring harness tomorrow.

I checked every wire connection on the whole bike everything seems tight and clean, it's all new except the key switch , and that has a new connector to mate with the new main harness I double checked the frame ( bare metal) to engine and got the same reading as yesterday 0.00.
