Also thank you for pointing out the problem isn't behind the flywheel

I think I'll open up the key switch and rotate the contact maker 180 degrees whats the worse that can happen ? Nothing will work ? I fry the whole harness?

Well I rotated the contact maker 180 d3grees and all that did was make my key work in reverse. now I'm gonna change the kill switch back to the original 1 wire switch and try that if that doesn't work , not much hair left to pull out .

IF I read your post right, you have the kill switch grounding into the main wire harness?
The ignition AND kill switch side should all be its self… ground the kill switch to the frame.
Maybe my left handed scanda-hoovian thinking is….

Yes thats where i put it , into the black triple connector from the main harness . Well I thought it was grounded to the frame through the black triple connector leading to the secondary coil where a black ring connector is attached with one of the mounting screws I think i asked if the kill switch should have its own dedicated ground.

Is that what the issue could be I have the kill switch plugged into the black triple connector from the main harness , when it should be grounded somewhere else?

I'm not schooled in this wiring thing , I'm just learning what some of the symbols on the multimeter are called , never-ending what they mean . I did try to test the key switch I set the meter to ohlms probed the black wire in the 4 wire connector with the black probe and the red probe to the b/w wire
with the key off I got a reading of 0.00 and with the key on a reading of 1. Same thing with the kill switch . Not sure what it all means except for it does something different when I switch from on to off , does that mean the switches are good or am I doing the test wrong?

Did you happen to miss my post #9 on page 1?

I went over in detail what you need to get the kill to work.

A ground is a ground. It doesn't have to be "dedicated"... but you do need to make sure what you are plugging into goes to ground.

The black wire coming from the key switch is in a 4 wire plug connected to the main harness, doesn't it ground through the harness at the black wire I have connected from the harness at the coil mount?

If I'm understanding you correctly I should plug the black/white into the triple black female that goes to coil ground? Sorry for being so numb to this
