can you put a finger over the spark plug hole when working the kickstart with other hand and see how hard it farts?
did you try a 2nd plug? I once had one that would spark on head but for some reason not under compression

The good Lord didn't bless me with much reach but he did give me a low center of gravity

I did try another plug and ensured it was gaped properly. Thanks for the reply...

If you have an inductive timing light , you could check the timing marks line up ,
whilst spinning the motor over . might need an extra pair of hands though .

I do have one, I'll see if I can manage it but that's if I can remember where it is, been years since I've used it.

I guess RH crank seal has been mentioned but if popped out it'd be flooding the crnkcase with trans oil but wouldn't start either. Unlikely unless it got flooded with fuel while hibernating, then first kick pushed the seal out so no chance of starting after that.
See how the drill trick goes but mine being a 100cc in the video was easy to spin. I didn't see page 3 when i wrote this but think my answer probably still fits in.

You don't have to kick it with your finger over the spark plug hole, you can stand on the right side and put your finger in the hole, then push the kickstarter with your left hand. Just make sure it's in neutral so it doesn't move forward in fall off the stand.

Remove the spark plug and try a squirt of actual fresh pre-mix gasoline into the cylinder and reinstall the spark plug and try it again, I’ve found brake cleaner these days just don’t seem to have the explosive flammability of the old days, especially the non-chlorinated type they sell now days.

Doesn't look like I'll be heading to Lowes today we're getting hammered pretty good right now from Nicole. I can at least try to check as Tom described.
