The guy in Cali with the front end parts got back to me and said the whole package would run about $53 to ship. He also offered to part out what I needed for a smaller package and cheaper too. I jumped on it, told him I would pay the $20 for the 2 lower tubes plus whatever shipping would cost for that. I just let the other guy know who had the other thread about the interchange that there will be parts he needed as well.
Thanks Adguy2112!!!!!

Back to removing the clutch, I got the universal clutch too from Tusk to hold the inner drum while using STILL a breaker bar on the nut holding the drum. The pressure it took to remove that nut was ridiculous. The directions to use the clutch tool said "do not tighten the jaws too much", and it slipped off, turning the corner of 2 lugs on the inner drum. Tightened it up a bit more, and just when I thought it was about to slip again, it finally started to turn. Thank you Lord!!!! I did not remove it though, I still needed it together to get the main drive gear off. That took a socket I did not have. So another weekend passes by, and just today I got the 26mm socket to pull that nut too. It too was one ridiculously tight. Removed the drum and related shims etc. and the main drive gear.

I am hopefully ready to split the case and get the crap out of the crankcase, and start to get this motor back together again with new seals and a flushed out bottom end and gearbox.
I have read somewhere if if is not needed, do not pull the gear cluster from the case. Do I have enough of this apart to split the case now? Is there anything else need to be removed besides the circlip that is on the outside of the gearshift shaft on the left side?
Thanks in advance for any advice and insight.

PS. This has been worked on before. The 3 screws that are around the bearing of the input shaft for the tranny have been marred by a previous worker. Evidently when they put it back together, they really cranked down on the nuts for the clutch and the main drive.....

Best plan 'i think' would be to take all the parts. Probably not going to save much on freight compared to the value of the parts that you could sell to members. Looking at the crank seals they are both in wrong way around. Probably hasn't mattered in the grand scheme of things & doubt very much they were leaking--but something to be aware off on assembly. Just check out the clutch pushrod because if its the type they ran for a year or three it'll be a big fat one that only fits in from the left side. If that's the case & you assemble it with the pushrod on the bench she'll need to come apart again. Partzilla shows an ordinary type that will come out in your hand so should be good. Just looking further it looks like "75 before that unusual idea arrived. No 16

The pushrod is the narrow one, it came out from the right side when I took off the clutch cover. Thanks for the note about the seal, I remember reading that the lugs are to go in to stop the seal at a given distance in to stop rubbing on other parts.

I will consider getting all the fork parts, but I don't have a lot of space to keep parts. I am using my wood shop as it is for my workspace for the rebuild.

I'm just kind of surprised those fork parts aren't gone already.  Usually you need to move quickly or lose out.

On getting the possibly overtightened nuts broken free...  That's a situation where using a good air or electric impact wrench to loosen has far less damage potential than trying to use hand tools.
