The lower the "E" number, the better. Until recently, some folks in the US could still get ethanol free petrol.

Yes "E0" is best.  These bikes were not designed for ethanol and the corrosion it can cause.

Some places in the US have ethanol free readily available at the pump.  Others don't.  If you want to pay the price, ethanol free is available virtually anywhere as places like Home Depot and lawn and garden stores often sell it...  it's $$$ though.  You can also order it or buy it from many industrial fuel suppliers, off road shops, speed shops, motorcycle shops, jet ski shops, etc in 5 gallon cans or 55 gallon drums...  not cheap either.  But it is available here if you aren't lucky enough to have it at the pump and you want to pay the price in time and money it takes to get it.

Replied by AirborneSilva on topic what grade petrol should i use in my 1973 at1 e bike

I live in central Florida, on the east coast. You can get ethanol free gas at most stations around here since we have a lot of boats/jetskis. Every year I fill up my huricane emergency gas cans for my generator with ethanol free gas, it's 90 octane. I also use it in my jetski...
