Salisbury's a nice place, I'm East Sussex way.
How come you dont have to connect the black wire into the new relay?

I was born in Brighton and lived in Bexhill (near Little Common) from start of 1973 to autumn 1975. I used to score for Bexhill cricket team at the Polegrove ground.
The wizadry of modern electronics - either doesn't need an earth or earths itself somehow!

Check all the bulb connections, connections in the headlight etc. Does anything extra happen when you use the brake light?

The turn signal indicator in the Tach connects to the SAME green and darker brown wires in the headlight bucket as the front signals. And you obviously have the front signals connected right as they flash correctly.
There's a dark brown and lighter brown wires in the headlight bucket. Easy to confuse. What you've likely done is connected one side of the indicator light in the tach to the lighter brown (power with key on) instead of the darker brown (turn signal)

Thanks Mark.
Wiring can be like witchcraft sometimes! I had a very similar issue to Vincent's on my RD125 - turned out the +ive bit on the end of one of the indicator bulbs wasn't making contact with it's wire.

with my 360, I used to have the signals flashing without the engine running, but now, they'll only flash when the engine is running. I think your new relay should help...

The odd behavior here is clearly a wiring error, not a component fault.
Let me explain.
The operation of the indicator light in the gauge is brilliant in its simplicity.
One side of the bulb connects to the right-side signal circuit and the other side of the bulb to the left-side signal.
When the the left side signal is flashing, the gauge indicator bulb gets power from the left side signal circuit. But the bulb needs a ground too... it's a low wattage bulb and simply grounds through the right side signal bulb filaments. The flow of power through the little dash indicator bulb is too low to make the right side lights flash because they are much higher wattage.
So what is happening here is one side of the dash indicator is connected to "key on" power and the other side is connected to the right turn signal.
"Key on", signals off = dash light on... it's grounding through the right side signals.
"Key on", left signal on = dash light on... it's still grounding through the right side signals
"Key on", right signal on = dash light flashes out of sync with right signal. When when right signal is off, dash light can ground through right side signals so it stays on. When right signal is on, now both side of the dash light have power which is the same as no ground so dash light goes off. Dash light flashes exactly out of sync.
Probably too much info but I'm certain if you connect the dash bulb across the front turn signals as designed, the problem will be solved.
