12 volt battery

I am trying to figure out what to do about ignition kit replacement for my 1974 DT360A, and a friend that used to motocross recommended ordering the HPI kit from DC Plastics. Then I saw a recommendation to order directly from Belgium, but there is a bit of a language barrier emailing back and forth.

A couple of years ago I thought about ordering a Rex’s Speed Shop kit, but I have seen a handful of people talking about having trouble with the kit.

Now I see Vape PowerDynamo kits that are about $500, but they’re in the US.

I may go with Rex’s if you aren’t having a lot of trouble, plus they emailed me back immediately when I asked what all I would need for lighting and instruments yesterday.

I say all that to get whatever input I can and to see if you have the more powerful battery still, or if I should just order one from BatteryMart from your links. So these batteries work perfectly well with the 360?

Thanks for anybody’s input as always! I’m still such a rookie at this and want to finally get it running.

VAPE is not the US... Powerdynamo was in Germany with most components made by VAPE in Czechoslovakia. VAPE bought Powerdynamo when the owner retired for health reasons. You can buy direct and it should be a lot cheaper than $500.

I have not looked at HPI in a while but in the past their charging/light output was pretty low... it looks like a good system though!

Yeah, the PowerDynamo kits I see are over $500 but include the flywheel.

The DC kit at VAPE is $302 (no VAT... that's only for the EU) + shipping.

Might even be less... not sure of the exchange rate.

Looks good - flywheel and all, that’s a decent price.
