There’s a small metal tab that you can bend to make the lever stay open or closed that’s what Iam talking about??

Assuming that I have looked it up correctly on CMSNL, and that you have the correct carb fitted, the attached photos show the the choke in the "off" position (first photo) and then "on". You can see that the little hump in the part referred to in my first post keeps the lever in position.

There might be a washer with a tab on it on your choke, but this is a locking tab for the plunger cap.

Yes that’s it. It won’t stay open I have to hold it to choke it. 
can I bend it upwards maybe a little bit to adjust it to stay up or down ??
