Q on Meiss Pipe Mods for DT360 was created by pabdt
So...Dave Meiss modded my pipe. Looks great and looking forward to hearing it. but...
One question...was getting ready to mount it and noted no threads in pipe. What do you guys think? Was part of the mod sealing this or should I drill and tap new threads. If tapped, does the thread hole extend in to the muffler cavity in stock form?

What a conundrum. Would you be able to make a bracket to use both those holes? I’d be afraid of not much metal, drilling and tapping into the exhaust.

I just checked my DT360 pipe and the tapped hole does not break thru into the exhaust chamber. There is a threaded slug welded to the backside of that raised sub-plate. Hopefully these photos help.

The threads missing doesn't seem like it would have anything to do with the sleeper pipe mod to me. And yes, hole does not go through into pipe.

Schu, THANK YOU for the excellent pics!
The part probably just fell off from 50+ years of vibration and banging around in my garage. I've heard these mods work well for the pipe, so thinking I will weld in an internal threaded rod.

See link below.
Maybe it's the hardware I'm using (a pc), but the "Search Forum" function works fine for me.

Interesting...Post #4 in that Sleeper pipe link shows my login handle, pabdt responding. That WAS NOT me! Noted, it was uppercase "PABDT".

Pabdt - That happens when the person that originally posted is no longer a member here. When I look at #4 it says "MarkT". Note that your avatar will not be there and it will also say "visitor".
