A Close Call. was created by Tinkicker
There I was, browsing through the bikes on ebay and came across a very familar type.
Yamaha AT3 in that blue green colour and no electric start.
It was the first bike that a 12 year old TK ever owned and was dearly loved. Of course it was just a field bike, lights ect removed.
This one is complete and I was getting giddy. Until........
" just needs the lights rewiring". AAAARGHH!
No sirreee bob.
What a shame.

Yamaha DT 125 at3 1972 | eBay
Lights and ignition switch shouldn't be too tricky, particularly as someone I know has a complete CT2/3 stator (which I'm guessing is the same as the kick start AT3) on fleabay!

Might even just be a straightforward wiring job, such as no lights due to the ignition switch being missing, given that they might only work with the switch two clicks round.
Bike is a few hundred overpriced, though.

I really like the color of that bike and overall it looks great. I would look at the wiring issue as a good point of negotiation on a purchase. Its such a good looking bike, it needs the lighting restored. If the parts are there, thats a win. I don't think it would be that difficult though.
As for price, sometimes "sentimental purchases" costs a little more but may offer more over the long term.
How do I know? My DT125A in the garage. Haha

Did no one one read my devil bike thread? A "needs the lights rewiring" on ebay means i screwed it up so badly that no one can get it running without spending thousands.

Not enough parts in the lighting system to cost you thousands. Anyway, how much riding in the dark did you intend doing?!
