Winters… we do get some pretty cold days in Minnesota, I’m about a 45 minute drive to the west tip of Lake Superior. Typical, about 3”-4” of snow every 5 days… It does make a ride impossible …. BUT, there are some brave souls that screw hex heads sheetmetal screws into the knobby’s and go race on the ice. That is a fun event…

I have the intention to do it right--but never do--& pay the penalty. Usually think--i'll run the bike before it gets to the stale fuel residue stage--But!!.

HT1, last I rode a snowmobile was about 1980. I did enjoy X-country skiing more… for some reason.

I've had issues with mice nesting under the seat on my covered bikes in my carport over the winter. This past spring I discovered a ground wire chewed through on my road bike. My wife informed me that peppermint oil on a small sponge placed under the seat should deter them.

@Snglsmkr, be careful with the peppermint oil. I had a bad experience with it. It swelled up my rubber parts beyond being usable and had to buy replacement pieces because of it. It is known to be used for restoring rubber that has gotten hard back to soft again. Mine turned to mush, following the wrong advice how it was to be applied.

That is good warning about the affect of the oil on rubber parts. It would be prudent not to allow the oil to contact rubber and (as an extra precaution) plastic parts like wire insulation.

Put dryer sheets in areas that you are concerned about mice / rodents, I have done it for years for winterizing boats / cycles. (It works)
